We collect as little as we can, and we never sell your information.
What we collect
- When you join or enrol: your name, email, optional college and exam date, and the path you chose. Stored on Cloudflare, our hosting provider.
- When you sign in with Google, Microsoft, Yahoo or Apple: that service tells us your name, email address and an account ID. It never shares your password with us. With Apple you can choose to hide your email; then we receive a private relay address instead, and Apple sends your name only the first time. You can add more than one of these ways to sign in to the same account. We keep a sign-in cookie in your browser (or, in the iPhone app, a sign-in token in the device's secure Keychain) for up to 30 days, or until you sign out.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We receive a confirmation, the amount and your email, never your card number. We keep a record of which course paths you've enrolled in.
- Questions you ask the tutor: your question, the last few messages of the conversation and the lesson you are studying are sent to an AI service, which writes the answer. Our default provider is Anthropic (Claude). If it is unavailable we use a model on our own computer, Cloudflare's Workers AI service or OpenAI. We never send your name or email address with a question. We use only providers whose terms say they don't train their models on this data. Please don't put sensitive personal information in your questions. We don't store your conversations. In the iPhone app we ask you to agree before your first question is sent.
- Your progress: when you're signed in, the lessons you finish, the solved problems and exercises you work through, and your practice answers by topic (how many, how many right on the first try, and your mastery estimate) are saved with your account, with the date, so your progress is the same on every device. You see it on My progress; the academy's administrators can see it and your sign-in history (date, country, IP address and browser) to support you. Settings such as voice and speed stay in your own browser.
- Voice: speech-to-text runs in your browser or, in the iPhone app, with Apple's speech recognition, using its built-in speech service. Some browsers, including Chrome, and Apple's service may send audio to their maker's servers to transcribe it. We receive only the text.
- Basic logs: our host records standard request data such as IP addresses to keep the service secure and enforce daily limits. Usage counters expire after a day.
How we use it
To provide the service, contact you about your access, and improve lessons. We don't use your information for advertising.
Your choices
You can delete your account yourself: on your account page (or in the iPhone app's Settings), choose Delete my account. That removes your sign-in methods, progress and tutoring requests. Payment records are kept without your name or email. To see or correct the information we hold, or to ask for help, email [email protected]. We'll respond within 30 days.
Children
The service is for people 14 and older. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to our terms, create or approve your account, and is responsible for any purchase. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 14. If you believe a child under 14 has an account, email us and we will delete it.
